Les deux dernières journées ont été très mouvementées, ce qui explique pourquoi je n’ai pas eu le temps de rédiger mon blogue…Le tout a commencé hier lorsque nous avons rejoint le groupe de National Geographic dans l’après-midi…Tour guidé en après-midi, petit cocktail de bienvenue et notre premier souper de groupe…puis, à 4:30 du matin, un réveil par téléphone, car nous devons être à l’aéroport de Santiago à 6 h pour prendre l’avion pour Ushuaia dans le sud de l’Argentine. C’est de là que le National Geographic Endeavour prend le départ pour l’Antarctique. Arrivés à Ushuaia vers 12 h 30, nous sommes immédiatement chargés dans un autobus pour un tour guidé du parc national Tierra Del Fuego. Une fois la visite du parc finit, on embarque sur un catamaran pour le lunch et une visite dans la baie d’Ushuaia...puis nous arrivons finalement sur le bateau vers 17 h et quittons le port d’Ushuaia vers 19 h après avoir observé un arc-en-ciel spectaculaire. Je viens de finir de télécharger les photos que j’ai prises aujourd’hui…Il y a en plus de 600, donc vous comprendrez que je n’ai pas fini de faire le triage…Demain, nous passons la journée complète sur le bateau donc j’aurai la chance de faire une mise à jour et de créer mon diaporama…À la prochaine…
The last 2 days have been pretty hectic…It all started when we joined the National Geographic group yesterday afternoon…We went for a city tour late in the afternoon then we had a Welcome cocktail and our first group dinner…Then at 4:30AM we had our wake-up call as we had to be at the Santiago airport for 6AM to catch our flight to Ushuaia at the most southern part of Argentina. That’s where the National Geographic Endeavour leaves from, to head for Antarctica. Once in Ushuaia, we were whisked immediately into a bus for a visit of Tierra Del Fuego National Park…Once the park visit finished, we boarded a catamaran for lunch and a visit of the bay in Ushuaia….We then boarded the ship at 17:00 and left port at 19:00 but not before witnessing a fabulous rainbow. I just finished downloading the pictures I shot today…There were more than 600, so you can understand why I haven’t had a chance to triage them…Tomorrow we have a free day on the ship as we are at sea all day…I will be able to update you with a slideshow and witness account of the Drake Passage, as we will be entering it around 1AM…Talk to you later.
